Radionuclide renography: a seldom used test for the detection of vesicoenteric fistula.

چکیده
Hellenic Journal of Nuclear Medicine ñ September December 2007 of a colorectal or bladder malignancy [7]. Most vesicoenteric fistulas in children are congenital and associated with anorectal malformation or cloacal anomalies [8]. The clinical manifestations are principally urological in the form of recurrent urinary infection and terminal pneumaturia. The most useful diagnostic techniques are cystoscopy serial voiding cystourethrography (SVCU), retrograde urethrography and pyelography. In up to 50% of patients with vesicoenteric fistula, conventional diagnostic methods fail. Uro-radiological and endoscopic methods are unreliable and symptoms are often nonspecific [9]. In these conditions radionuclide renography can be very useful [10]. Correspondence

Vesicoenteric Fistula due to Bladder Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Vesicoenteric fistula is a rare complication of bladder squamous cell carcinoma. We report the case of a 70-year-old male who complained of painless, total gross hematuria. Abdominopelvic computed tomography (CT) revealed an approximately 2.7-cm lobulated and contoured enhancing mass in the bladder dome. We performed partial cystectomy of the bladder dome after transurethral resection of the bl...
متن کاملDiagnostic value of diuretic renography in the study of obstructive uropathy in nuclear medicine [Persian]
Introduction: Urinary obstructive disease is one of the most common disorders in urinary system. Dilatation which is detected by sonography, is a key finding in obstruction in most of the cases, also could be found following surgery, lithotripsy and vesico–urethral reflux. Radioistope diuretic washout renography is a useful method to differentiate mechanical and non...
متن کاملInterpretation of captopril renography using artificial neural networks.
The purpose of this study was to develop a method based on artificial neural networks for interpretation of captopril renography tests for the detection of renovascular hypertension caused by renal artery stenosis and to assess the value of different measurements from the test. A total of 250 99mTc-MAG3 captopril renography tests were used in the study. The material was collected from two diffe...
متن کاملVesicoenteric Fistula Arising from an Adenocarcinoma of Ectopic Pancreatic Tissue in a Meckel Diverticulum
We report a case of a vesicoenteric fistula arising from an adenocarcinoma of ectopic pancreatic tissue in a Meckel diverticulum in a 58-year-old man. The patient suffered from refractory micturition pain and increased urinary frequency. Computerized tomography with a contrast agent showed a ring-shaped enhanced mass near the dome of the urinary bladder. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a cyst...
متن کاملVesicoenteric fistula caused by bladder diverticulitis: MRI Findings.
The images presented below were from a man, at the age of 80, who was admitted to hospital with recurrent urinary tract infection. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed after initial examination. Conventional MRI showed multiple diverticulum in bladder and one of them had contact sigmoid colon via fistula tract (Figure-1). Diffusion weighted images (DWI) showed restricted diffusion in ...
